Honest Review: HASK Coconut Milk and Organic Honey Curl Care Deep Conditioner

I will be honest with you – having curly hair is high maintenance. Miss one too many treatments and my curls just go flat.

My hair went through a lot during 2020. I straightened it throughout winter, cut bangs, layered it and changed my hair products at least three times. One of the biggest mistakes I made was stopping my weekly oil treatments. I used to do deep oil treatments once a week and one deep conditioning treatment every second week. My curls were struggling and eventually looked dull, dry and frizzy.

So, I turned to the one treatment that never let me down in the past – the HASK Coconut Milk & Organic Honey Curl Care Deep Conditioner.

The Product

The HASK Coconut Milk & Organic Honey Curl Care Deep Conditioner contains many natural ingredients and is free of sulfates. Ingredients included are:

  • Cetearyl alcohol – helps soften and hydrate hair.
  • Coconut milk – nourishes curls and adds shine.
  • Honey – reduces hair frizz and breakage.
  • Polyquaternium – conditions hair.

The Good Stuff

I applied a generous amount of the treatment to my damp hair after washing my hair with the HASK Coconut Oil Shampoo . After leaving it in for 10 minutes I could already see my curl pattern returning. I rinsed it out and applied a little bit of curl cream. My hair felt softer and more hydrated. There was less frizz and my curls were bouncier – unlike before when it was just dry and dull.

To Be Honest…

Applying too much of the treatment can make my roots flat. Sure, my curls have more definition but less volume (and I love volume).

Do I Still Use It?

I don’t use this treatment anymore. My curls are almost back to normal and healthier than before. However, I would rather continue to do oil treatments and try another curl conditioning treatment that wouldn’t make my roots too flat. I would only use this treatment if I really needed a curl renaissance.
