Honest Review: The Inkey List Omega Water Cream Moisturiser

Advertisements

At the start of the season I was in search of a deep moisturising cream that would save my skin from the winter chill. I wondered into the aisles of Sephora to find a suitable and affordable cream. That is when I discovered the Inkey List.

I had heard about the brand before and often wondered if I should ever test their products. I thought this was a great opportunity for me to try out one of their moisturisers to see how it would fend against the cold seasons.

The Product

The Inkey List Omega Water Cream Moisturiser is a water-based gel moisturiser . This hydrating cream is great for oil skin but anyone can use it due to its oil-free and silicone-free ingredients. The product is consisted of:

  • Omega fatty acid complex
  • Glycerin
  • Betaine
  • Niacinamide

The Good Stuff

What really influenced my purchase of this product was its ingredients. While I don’t normally go for gel-based products I was really curious to find out if the ingredients, which are meant to build a healthy skin barrier, would work well on my sensitive and dry skin.

After a few weeks I did notice a change in my skin’s hydration. The product is super lightweight, but it does provide deep hydration of the skin. Safe to say that my skin was protected from the cold winter nights and not a single flake was in sight!

To Be Honest…

To be honest, the downfall of this cream is that it is gel-based. I guess gel products just don’t work as well on skin type. As ligthweight and hydrating this product was, my skin texture was not the best. Usually after applying serums and toners on my skin a moisturiser would lock in everything and provide a plumping effect to my skin, which unfortunately this product did not do.

Do I Still Use It?

It may not come as a surprise but I have stopped using this product once it ran out. While it is not the worst face cream that I have used, it was not the best. Maybe it is better suited for oily skin or acne-prone skin. Or maybe it did not fit well within my skincare routine. Nevertheless, I would not buy this product again but I will recommend it to people with other skin types.
